Climb to the Heavens! Maten Gate

Synopsis

Without "the will to see it through to the very end," the Maten Gate can't be cleared. Episode 35 has a deep, life-pondering flavor. The scene where Wataru climbs a rope let down from the heavens, and the others below begin climbing it too, has a touch of Akutagawa Ryunosuke's "Spider's Thread." Amid the heavy story, Himiko's cheerleader getup is a heart-warming touch.
