Memories

Synopsis

The match finally begins between Japan and West Germany. Japan tries to create shooting chances through Tsubasa and Misaki's double combination play, along with Matsuyama and Oda's combination, but doesn't score. Schneider, who blocked Misaki's shot, races toward Japan's goal. Wakashimazu blocks the first shot, but Schneider shoots again off the loose ball. The goalkeeper reads the course, but Schneider quickly changes his pivot foot and shooting foot at the last moment. Beaten to the opposite side, Wakashimazu allows the first goal. Japan concedes one more goal in the first half. An atmosphere of resignation fills the team, but Tsubasa's voice reaches everyone: "Never giving up is our soccer!"
