The Finals

Synopsis

At the finals, Hongo likely plans to use the tornado drop as a secret weapon against the Soviet Union, according to sports reporters. This thoughtless speculation reaches Kozue, causing her to play awkwardly, contradicting Hongo's intentions. Though a relatively straightforward story of misunderstanding, Kozue's innocent acceptance of the reporter's words is memorable. Shelerina's absence from the match brings an eerie tension to the film.
