Synopsis

Final round. Having gone off the track, Hayato and Schumacher start from the very back. But the two post lap times worthy of qualifying and show an astonishing charge. Hayato is again overwhelmed by Osamu's technique and fighting spirit as a driver, and Osamu in turn cries out within his heart to Hayato: 'if you are the true champion of the new era, then beat me now. And show me you can surpass me.' Mid-race, the two finally catch Randoll. Passed once more by Schumacher, Randoll is irritated, but, having also been passed by Hayato, he reclaims his own race with 'I just won't lose to Hayato.' Moreover, the other drivers, spurred by the momentum of the two, also fight hard, and it becomes a chaotic scramble. But amid it, Schumacher's eyes reach their limit. Realizing he can't withstand the high speed, he stops his machine. 'Even if I take the championship, it's worthless if I can't beat you. I want to race with you to the end,' Hayato pleads. Having recalled the spirit of 'fighting one's own limit toward the finish,' of never giving up — the most important thing for a racer — Schumacher closes both eyes, leaves the Cyber System on voice support only, and takes on the race. Heading for the final corner, the lead group — Shinjo, Randoll, Heinel, Bootsholz — makes an emergency pit stop: it's only by racing against Hayato and Schumacher that they are true champions, and they meet them at the timing the two catch up. The six finally reach the final lap, and the battle heats up further. Schumacher takes the lead with flawless driving, unthinkable for someone who can't see. On the final six-bank sequence, from the triple slipstream among Schumacher, Hayato, Randoll, and Shinjo, they burst onto the final straight. The one who emerges in front is Asurada! Hayato crosses 1st. Then Randoll, 3rd Shinjo, 4th Schumacher. At that instant, Hayato claims the world title and, for the second year running, the crown of the Double One!
