Synopsis

The Fuwa rescue team heads to a dangerous scene with the risk of a dust explosion. Realizing from the unnatural state of the scene that arson was likely and that the culprit was still inside, Shun re-enters with no regard for his own safety. With help from Daigo, who follows him in, they manage to escape carrying the now-conscious arsonist, but the explosion's time limit is closing in. After handing the arsonist to Igarashi and Usui, who were waiting at the evacuation exit, Shun gets caught in the blast just one step short of safety. Meanwhile, Amakasu had been trying to prevent the dust explosion by destroying the smoke-exhaust duct with a suicide drone—but his plan didn't make it in time. Having watched Shun charge back into the building heedless of danger and felt that 'this is a man whose calling is to save people,' Amakasu lets his frustration show at being unable to save him. That's when Daigo Asahina appears. Asahina says he has 'seen with his own eyes' a 'crisis that could devastate Japan' that may occur in July two years from now; he thanks Amakasu, who had only been able to act in secret, and vows to fight alongside him. The arsonist comes to where the Fuwa rescue members are watching over Shun in the ICU. At his words—'I can move now, so I wanted to apologize, even just a word, from here'—the Fuwa rescue members can't hide their agitation. As the arsonist apologizes in tears, Daigo lets his anger show. In the midst of it, the doctor in the ICU notices something……
