The letter

Synopsis

Before the national tournament, a letter arrives from Wakabayashi to Tsubasa. It details a reunion with Misaki. Wakabayashi, already active in West Germany's second division professionally, and Misaki, improving his skills further in France—learning of their progress, Tsubasa dreams of going to Brazil and leading Japan to World Cup victory. But first, achieving V3 in the national tournament is essential. Roberto's challenge to Tsubasa is to master the Drive Shot. After practice ends, Tsubasa practices alone kicking the ball. Inspired by his dedication, Ishizaki and others resume independent practice. While Nankatsu unites toward the nationals, Hyuga doesn't return to Toho—instead heading toward Okinawa where coach Kira runs a soccer club.
