The duel

Synopsis

While Japan's schools compete fiercely for nationals qualification, young Wakabayashi reminisces about when Misaki and he reunited. Three years prior, Misaki's father had success with his sketches and suggested studying art in France. Unable to leave his son, he declined—until Misaki's divorced mother appeared. She wanted Misaki to focus on soccer in one city while experiencing maternal warmth he'd never known. Misaki's father agreed, but Misaki told his father from afar seeing mother was enough; he'd accompany his father to France instead. Now Misaki continues soccer in France, like Wakabayashi, dreaming of reuniting with Tsubasa someday.
