Synopsis

At Aoi, Kyoko's dismissal as team owner is suddenly decided. Appointed to the post is Kyoshiro Nagumo, said to be Aoi Motors' rising star. Appearing at Aoi's test course, where final adjustments to the new machine for the opener were underway, Nagumo suddenly starts running a mysterious machine and proposes to Kyoko a race between new machines. Kyoko orders Shinjo and Kaga, who were testing, to face the machine Nagumo prepared, the 'Alzard.' But the Alzard, with cutting-edge tech — an onboard biocomputer and a body using rare metals — had overwhelming performance. Feeling the machine's limits, Kaga admits defeat. But Shinjo, in the heat of the moment, tries to keep chasing and blows his engine. Nagumo announces the cancellation of the new Experion's development and the switch of the entered machine to the Alzard, plus Shinjo's dismissal and the hiring of the Alzard's test driver, Phil Fritz, as Aoi's driver. Having his mental weakness cited as the reason for dismissal, Shinjo leaves the circuit with no words to give back. Days later, Shinjo visits Kaga and confesses that he's going to America to break out of his own shell. Miki decides to leave Aoi and go to America to maintain Shinjo's machine, and waits at the airport. And at last, the 15th Cyber Formula WGPX opens. Hayato competes with the Garland and records the top time. But seeing the driving and astonishing time of the rookie Phil, everyone is left speechless. Amid this, only Kaga senses something off about Phil.
