Synopsis

Hayato receives word from Kaga that he has had an accident — that Kaga was struck by the same sensation as Hayato. Kaga suspects the secret of Phil and the Alzard lies in that drink, and entrusts Asuka with analyzing its components. Asuka reports a startling result: that drink, 'α-Neuro,' is a new nervous-system drug that increases muscle reaction speed and erases the sensation of speed. And she surmises that, combined with a biocomputer, the Alzard gives orders to Phil's nervous system, making perfect driving possible. To Hayato, who talks of filing suit with FICCY, Kyoko asks him to leave the matter to her. To Hayato, who asks 'is it fine to win just by being manipulated by a computer?', Phil answers: 'there are those who can grasp nothing unless they throw everything away.' Phil was already showing abnormalities from overdosing on the drug. Led once more to reconsider his relationship with the machine, Hayato tells Clair and Osamu he wants to drive Asurada again — for he realized that Asurada is a partner who fights alongside the driver. But Osamu sets a one-on-one match against himself as the condition. When Hayato climbs into Asurada, she is in a bad mood and lets slip some sarcasm. With a technique that hasn't rusted, Osamu blocks Hayato and Asurada. Even the drift doesn't work on Osamu, and Hayato struggles. When, on a corner, he attempts a double Inertial Drift using the Zero Zone, Asurada makes a follow-up error. But thanks to that error, Hayato masters an astonishing drift that changes direction in mid-air. With that unexpected weapon, he passes Osamu and takes Asurada back.
