The Subscription Concert

Synopsis

The regular concert opens with "Carmen." For Ritsuko, who took up an instrument in earnest in the Orchestra Club, performing in front of an audience is a leap into the unknown. Her middle school days, at odds with classmates and attending school by way of the nurse's office. Her encounter with the violin. Her journey so far layers itself over the performance. Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker," where Haru takes her turn. Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons," led by the third-years. The concert moves forward, carrying all of it—the time each spent with their music, their worries and struggles, their connections of the heart.
