Synopsis
A young elementary school student named Eiji, whose father is a calligrapher, visits Black Jack with his father and teacher Saeki. Eiji was born with a condition that leaves some of his fingers unusable, but he has exceptional talent with the abacus. They ask Black Jack if he can perform surgery so Eiji can use the abacus properly. When Black Jack quotes a price of 30 million yen, Eiji promises to become Japan's abacus champion and repay the money. A week later, Black Jack successfully performs the surgery. But during rehabilitation, Eiji complains that his fingers hurt too much to practice with the abacus.
