The Giant Rainbow Trout of the Maple Leaf Bank

Synopsis

Old Ippei is seriously injured in a fishing accident. From his hospital bed, Ippei mumbles deliriously the name of Sanpei's father, Hira — and Sanpei is shaken. Once a fisherman in Hokkaido, Sanpei's father was caught up in an accident and lost his memory. Ever since, Hira has traveled all over Japan, fishing as he goes, in an effort to recover that memory. By a twist of fate, he had been challenging the giant rainbow trout known as "Nokori Masu" at the Momiji embankment, just barely missing his son.
